BP – British Petroleum!!!

It is amazing BP –British Petroleum, is dealing with the oil spill in the Gulf Of Mexico.   BP is polluting and slowly killing our planet, dirtying our rich and sandy gulf beaches, as well as diminishing the fishing market for the Gulf States.  According to Time Magazine the burst oil pipe, which is 5,000 feet below the surface, it is leaking at an alarming rate of 5,000 barrels of oil a day into the ocean; originally NOAA estimated a rate of 1,000 barrels a day.

Admiral Landry stated that BP cannot handle the spill with the resources available in the private sector, it is most likely, that the “defense department could become involved to contribute technology”.  Since BP does not have the technology to handle the spill, where is all the money that BP has earned with the high gas prices?

My Concerns for those business in the gulf that depend on fishing, those species, if this continue there would be a large number of species that the population will decrease due to this spill, and the outlook of oil prices in the near future.   I think as a society we should seek alternative energy sources, oil could destroy our planet.

Clean or Kill The Birds from BP Oil Disaster.

According to a serious study conducted on birds that are heavily oiled, in the Gulf of Mexico, the rate of survival is less the 1%.  Is it right to kill these birds rather than clean them?  If we do not try to clean these birds how can we ensure their survival?  As the Oil Spill Disaster progress in the Gulf of Mexico, we need to gather the necessary information as to how we can save as many species as we can.  Killing them rather than cleaning them is not humane.    U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other groups involved in the cleanup show that 413 oiled birds have been collected alive, and 594 dead birds have been picked up. Of all those birds, only 39 have been released back into the wild, according to MSN.com.
